To help prepare people who are about to begin work on parish baptismal teams

Recently some parishes expressed an interest in a morning to help prepare people who are about to begin work on parish baptismal teams.

On Saturday 16th April from 11am until 12.30pm, a morning course of preparation will be offered for those involved in this work.

This course will be similar to that which was offered last year and is open anyone who is new to a baptismal team in your parish.

The course will be held in the Canon Malone Hall, Ballyragget.

What is it?

Baptism is the first of the seven sacraments, and it is one that all the Christian denominations share in common, even though each religion baptizes at different ages and some in different ways. As baptism leaves an indelible mark on a person, they can only be baptized once in their lives.

In the eyes of the Catholic Church, any baptism that uses water and the formula “I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” is a valid baptism. (more…)
